The Cedars care home is set in an acre of maintained grounds within the leafy Bowdon conservation
area near Altrincham, Greater Manchester and enjoys panoramic views of the Cheshire Plain. The building,
formerly a 4 storey early Victorian family house, was converted by the current owners to
its present usage in 1985.
The home is situated within convenient walking distance of Hale village, local bus stops, newsagents, and the main Manchester to Chester railway line, whilst Altrincham Town Centre and Metrolink are only a 5 minute bus/car ride away. A Home from Home
At The Cedars residential home, we pride ourselves in providing an excellent standard of
accommodation and care combined with a friendly atmosphere and homely environment.
Colour co-ordinated decor and modern facilities, and caring trained staff all combine
to provide superb Long Term Care, Convalescent Care, Respite Care and Day Care within a

and mental stimulation and enjoyment. We very much encourage Residents' Friends and relatives to become involved in the life of the Home.
Specialist services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hairdressing and
chiropody.

The Cedars Rest residential care home is Registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection ( CSCI ). We are Contracted with and on the Approved Provider List of Trafford Council and Manchester City Council, and are Members of the English Community Care Association ( ECCA ).

2. Providing that the initial information indicates that the Home may be suitable, the
Head of Home or Deputy Head of Home will arrange an appointment to meet with the
prospective Resident at The Cedars, in their own home, or in hospital, whichever is most
convenient.
3. If the discussions and assessment confirm that the accommodation is required, fees
can be discussed and agreed, arrival date discussed and, if possible, agreed and a deposit
to secure the room paid and a receipt given.
4. Admission to the Home is subject to agreement of the details included in the
Statement of Terms of Residence. For long stay Residents a trial period of 4 weeks is
operated to ensure that both parties are happy with the arrangements.

The Cedars - Advice about Financial Assistance
Local Authority funding may be available to you if your financial circumstances meet the necessary criteria. We will be pleased to advise you of the action you should take to determine such funding if you phone us on 0161-928-4361, during the hours of 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The Governments' choice directive under the Care in the Community
Programme provides you with the right to choose your preferred Care Home.
Please contact us for advice before making any decision about
short or long term residential care where Local Authority, or private funding is
involved. The rules on funding are now quite complex and are often means-tested, and
you should not make any decision which affects your finances before seeking proper advice.
Suitable Independent Financial Advisors ( IFAs ), who will offer advice free of
charge, are locally available, and we can provide names of such regulated advisors on
request.
Where to find us
Directions from Altrincham:
Take B5161 (Ashley Road) South out of Altrincham, heading towards
Bowdon and Hale. At the traffic lights at the crossroads of Ashley Road, Stamford New Road
and Langham Road, bear right along Langham Road. Approx 250 metres past the Quality Hotel you
will find The Cedars on the left hand side.
From M56 Jcn 7 at Dunham: At junction of M56 and A556 at Dunham, take A556 towards
Altrincham for about 1.5 miles, passing petrol station on the right. Turn right at the
lights onto Park road, becomes Langham road. The Cedars signboard is clearly visible on the right, approximately 150 metres after the junction with South Downs Road
